A quick drive from Belleville to Maple Sugar Road in Tyendinaga Township will land you at Trillium Ridge Sugarworks in Hastings County, a 430-acre sugar bush that has been in operation for more than 140 years, the past 34 years with Terry and Vicky Gervais. In 2013, Allyson and I arrived after seeing it in a Facebook post by Hastings County Economic Development guru and maple syrup connoisseur Andrew Redden.
He is the one who tweaked our interest, but the actual visit that got us hooked.
